In this conversation with Githa Hariharan, novelist, playwright and critic Shanta Gokhale speaks of her individual method of dissent, the Indian education system which she believes still reeks of casteism, multilingual theatre in Mumbai, and more. Gokhale comments on how educational institutes at most parts of the country are still “feudal” in how they continue to practice discrimination towards students from particular sections of the society, for they aren’t always the “liberal” spaces that we presume them to be.
